Claire got her first taste of gymnastics almost 3 weeks ago, but I’m just now getting around to posting the photos and videos. We went with her friend, Callie (and her parents), to a trial class at my old workplace, Gym Carolina. The instructor, Mr. Corey, was really good (the best I’ve seen) and Claire took to him right away. I am disappointed that we won’t be able to continue going, but the location is just too far from our new home. I’ve been looking for another gym in our area and hope we’ll be able to try another class soon.
To say Claire loved the class would be an understatement. She was like a fish in water - completely in her element. She wasn’t scared of a thing, just jumped right in and easily accomplished most of the tasks. The only thing Claire did NOT like about gymnastics class was the short intervals of instruction where she had to sit still.
Can we get a foam pit in our new home, mama?
Here are several more of my favorite photos and a couple of videos of the “future tallest gymnast in the world”. Even more can be found in the updated August 2009 photo gallery. And yes, a post about our move and the new home (with pics!) is coming soon. Would you believe that we’ve been a bit busy the past week and a half? We’re enjoying meeting new neighbors, taking family bike rides to the two nearby parks, installing new hardware and organizing up a storm. We waited 2 years for this and are plum pooped after only a week and a half!
Lots to climb on - so much fun!
Showing off that upper body strength (and super cute smile)!
Seriously, mama - this pit rocks my world!
