This past Saturday, Colleen, Claire, and myself attended the Carolina Tarheels/Miami Hurricanes football game in Chapel Hill.  It was Claire’s very first football game, which I received tickets for as a birthday present from my wonderful wife :)  Thanks to everybody who sent me birthday cards and presents!!

Now back to the game.  Claire loves live action events, which is just about the only thing that will keep her still now-a-days.  She really loves all of the movement, colors, and noises that go on at a sporting event.  She smiles, she points, she babbles about this and that…. and then about that and this….      and…        yea, she likes to talk now!  Even though mommy and daddy can’t understand 99% of what she’s saying, she sure does seem to think that she knows what she’s saying.  Here’s baby Claire and Daddy right after we walked into the stadium:

As halftime was approaching, I continued a practice that I learned at an early age while going to Razorback games with Grandpa and Dad, which is to head out a couple of minutes BEFORE halftime!  The bathrooms are still empty and there’s virtually nobody in line yet to get food, so it really pays to get a jump start on the masses.  Here’s Claire enjoying some of Mommy’s BBQ sandwich at halftime, and also a picture of Claire in her Tarheel cheerleading outfit that mommy bought for her

This practice also works at the end of the game when it comes to beating the exiting traffic!!  Just a minute or two can save you 30-45 minutes of being stuck in traffic, which is very important when you’ve got a sleepy 16 month old, which is shown in this picture:

Overall, it was a very good first football game for baby Claire!  For the majority of the game, she was too busy trying to see what all was going on to be too wiggly.  But of course, being 16 months old finally caught back up with her, and the wiggles returned.  Still a good day though and a very good birthday present for Daddy.
