Our little family of 3 had quite the busy day this past Saturday. Claire decided that Valentine’s Day should start at 6:00 am - an event that mommy and daddy are praying does not turn into a tradition. After a bottle, play time, breakfast and a morning nap, we dressed Claire in yet another heart-splattered outfit and headed to the library for weekly rhyme time. We ran into friends Trey, Sabrina and Carter (2 1/2 years) and the two kiddos enjoyed a Valentine-themed session, complete with bubbles and hand stamps.
After rhyme time, we swung by Chick-fil-a then headed to a nearby neighborhood to check out a possible future home. The verdict was that the home was nice - not perfect - and definitely over priced. It was actually right across the street from the 3rd home that we placed an offer on…and lost.
Next up was a trip to Sam’s Club to purchase contacts for me and to invest in a new pair of transitional glasses for Eric. He picked out a nice pair of frames that look really good on him. We’ll pick them up in a week or two. I don’t know why, but Claire seems to really like Sam’s Club. She was full of smiles and laughs…I’m sure it had nothing to do with getting to ride on daddy’s shoulders!
After an afternoon nap (Claire and Mommy) and some R&R (Daddy), we piled back into the Escape in search of a swing set. The weather was nice, but the sun was fading fast. The park that we used to visit pre-Claire lacked playground equipment, as did the next one we tried. But our third attempt was successful and we found swings, slides, and a toddler-sized basketball court! I could see Eric imagining the day he would play a game of one-on-one with his little wiggle worm.
Claire absolutely loved the swing! Below is one of my favorite pictures from the day and a video of her first swing set experience. There are a lot more pictures in the updated February 2009 photo gallery - enjoy!
