About Colleen
I was born in 1981 in Dallas, TX. I spent most of my childhood in Van Buren, AR, until I graduated in 2000. Upon graduation, I attended Harding University in Searcy, AR. I was active in the Kappa Gamma Epsilon social club and danced for 3 years in the annual Spring Sing show.
During a summer internship between my Jr. and Sr. years, I met Eric at the University of Arkansas. I believe we dated for a whole month before he moved to North Carolina to teach in Chapel Hill. Thus began a long year of late night phone calls and dozens of hours spent in an airport or on a plane.
In May of 2004, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Media. I spent about 3 weeks back home in AR before moving to Raleigh to be with Eric. I worked two jobs that year; during the day I did graphic design for the YMCA of the Triangle, and in the evenings I taught gymnastics/cheerleading/tumbling at Gym Carolina.
Eric asked me to be his wife in November of 2004, and we were married on June 25, 2005 in his hometown of Siloam Springs, AR. We spent the first two years of marriage enjoying one another and traveling. We went to Orlando for Spring Break 2006, New York City for Eric’s 30th birthday, Washington DC for Spring Break 2007 and to the Bahamas for Josh and Meredith’s wedding in July of 07.
I currently work as a web designer/developer for the News & Observer. This past April marked my second year there and I am still finding the work enjoyable, for the most part.
Eric and I found out on Halloween 2007 that we were expecting our first child. We’ve spent the past nine months preparing for our little one and trying to get in plenty of “couple time” before life changes forever. Our daughter, Claire, is due June 28th, but due to a breech position, will be born via c-section on June 20th. Mommy and Daddy couldn’t be more ready to welcome her to this world!
I am truly happy – the Lord has blessed me in more ways than I could have ever imagined.
